What hardware is needed for Wireless network?

here has been so much hype about wireless networks, it is sometimes difficult to get to the important question: Do you need? To determine if your laptop must have wireless networking capabilities, you should understand what it is first.

WiFi stands for Wireless Local Area Network or a local wireless network. Wireless network cards use the IEEE 802.11 standard for wireless transmission. There are other wireless standards like Bluetooth, but the 802.11 standard is the primary network applications. A wireless network device was originally developed for the interaction between computers connected to the LAN, but is now also used for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Internet access, just like the wireless local area network standards.
Wireless network environment does not require complicated wiring to accommodate the exchange of data and Internet access. The wireless network uses one or more wireless access points or wireless routers to transmit the signal. An access point has an antenna and an Ethernet port, which must be connected to a broadband modem for Internet connection. A wireless router adds multiple Ethernet ports to allow more of a combination of wired and wireless. The access point or router acts as a transmitter and a radio frequency. This access point device interfaces that use 802.11 wireless adapters.

In the case of 802.11 wireless base station, wireless-enabled device can use the network and the Internet in general.

Whether you need the wireless network is up to you. Wireless network capacity is always wonderful to have an element of a laptop, but there are situations where wireless is certainly necessary.

If you want to have an office cleaning or home network, wireless network is for you. Also, if you have many users on a local network, or if the number of users is expected to grow, the wireless router has a limited number of Ethernet ports on the router. Note, however, that the wireless network connection is not as reliable as traditional Ethernet connections and wireless connections are susceptible to electromagnetic interference and radio frequency.

If you are a freelance, or some other place where you go often, wireless networking is invaluable. Wireless networks is the most commonly used form of public access to the Internet around the world. With a wireless network adapter, you can count on an internet connection, until the available Wi-Fi hotspots.

To interact with personal devices such as PDAs and mobile phones, Bluetooth is a more common, but wireless networks is absolutely necessary for wireless Internet connections.
