Entertainment Notebook computer HP Pavilion dm4-1265dx review

HP Pavilion DM4-1265dx  is a consumer notebook affordable dressed in an attractive aluminum and equipped with a powerful, that the first generation i5 processor. You do not have a Blu-ray with this model and the integrated graphics processor, while more than adequate for watching movies and everyday tasks are not graphics to run games or other graphics applications loaded. Always offers the latest wireless features, the battery life decent and published some of its more expensive competitors.

Not usually found in metal finishing budget laptops, but bucks the trend 1265dx-DM4. Stylish brushed aluminum cover to give a laptop a nice solid feel and provides an additional measure to protect the screen. Etched model and backlit HP logo complete the look. Tray measures 1.3 inches its thickest point and tapering to a thin 0.8-inch front. At 4.4 pounds it is much lighter than most 14-inch laptop like the Dell Inspiron 1296PBL-14R ,Samsung QX410-J01, and the HP Envy 14-1110NR .
Chiclet-style keyboard has some flexibility to it, it is not uncommon with relatively thin laptops. However, it is not at all doughy, has good size keys, and is comfortable to write. The platform of the entire keyboard is made in the embossed aluminum finish, along with the cover, and as the cover is resistant to fingerprints. This model uses a ClickPad instead of a touchpad with conventional buttons, and as was the case for the HP Envy 14, can be tricky, click on the integrated mouse buttons sometimes interpreted as a command gesture, if not you care. As with envy, gestures off alleviates the problem. A power switch is on the thin single button on the top of the keyboard cover.

14-inch LED-backlit display has a glossy finish that reflects, but not so much. The color quality is very good, as is off the viewing angle. The screen resolution is 1366 x768 and produces a strong HD (720p) describes a sharp image detail. DM4-1265dx Altec Lansing speakers are adequate for low volume, but not for volume and bass.

Developed by the first generation of Intel 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5-460M, 4GB of RAM, and HD Intel GMA integrated graphics engine, DM4-1265dx productivity and multimedia performance was impressive. Its PCMark Vantage score of 5870 was 310 points above the current choice of our editors, the Asus U41JF-A1 (857 million Street, 4.5 stars) (5560), and only 130 points less than the Samsung QX410- J01 (6000). Both models cost several hundred dollars more than the DM4-1265dx. Cinebench score was 2.11 R11.5 could not match the U41-JF-A1 (2.39), but was there with QX410-J01 (2.12) and Sony VAIO PCV-EA46FM / V (3.5 $ 799.99 list , stars) (2.11). The DM4-1265dx completed our Photoshop CS5 test represented in 4 minutes and 55 seconds, beating the QX410-J01 (4:56), the Dell Inspiron 14R-1296PBL (5:23), and the VAIO (5:22). Only U41JF-A1 had a faster time (4:52), but not by much. The results were similar to the brake hand timing of the test.

The biggest advantage U41JF-A1 has more than DM4-1265dx is the GPU, giving it enough power to play demanding games. DM4 integrated GPU may not deliver playable frame rates and 3DMak06 score of 1909 (1366 x 768) is entered in more than 5000 points behind U41JF-A1 (6931).

Good battery life 1265dx DM4-handed, but it's 6:22 MobileMark 2007 was no match for the score-A1 Asus U41JF 8:19. However, lasted over an hour more than the VAIO (05:08) and more than two hours more than the Inspiron (4:10).

Its graphics performance notwithstanding, HP Pavilion 1265dx-DM4 is a consumer notebook for little money. Aluminum finish is both elegant and protective, and productivity and multimedia performance compares favorably with more expensive competition. Blu-ray would be a welcome addition if, as would a discrete GPU.
